Buffy Watercolor Sketches

Voici quelques dessins directement au pinceau avec de l'aquarelle, faits en mettant Buffy sur pause. Bon le papier est très vieux, mais agréable pour dessiner. Il n'a pas l'air comme ça, mais en fait il tient bien l'aquarelle, j'ai juste scanné un peu trop vite. Cliquez pour un plus grand format!

Here are a few watercolor drawings made directly on the paper with a brush; i did those while pausing watching a Buffy episode. The paper is old, but even if it doesn't show, it really holds watercolor well. I just scanned too fast. Click for better quality!

Dessiner sur ce vieux papier à dessin est un vrai plaisir, le papier accroche le crayon, ça donne des effets de matière... <3

Pour les plus perspicaces, c'est bien un papier quadrillé, et je me suis *amusé* à enlever les lignes sur le dessin. J'ai fait la même chose pour le header de ce blog, il était fait sur un papier quadrillé également  *taré*

Drawing on this paper feels fantastic, it's got a specific grain that makes it feel like you're carving into something with your pencil... I found it on a flea market, I bought their entire stock! 

By the way, for the keen eyed, the paper is actually lined, but I used photoshop to erase the lines crossing my drawing. I did the same thing for the header of this blog. Call me crazy.

Je joue trop à Pokemon, autant en faire quelque chose et s'immerger à fond dans l'univers! je me suis amusé à créer un pokemon et lui faire un dresseur à son image. Voilà déjà le dresseur!

I'm playing so much Pokemon, that I needed to make something out of it in order to remain sain. So I just invented a Fakemon, and drew a pokemon trainer to accompany it. Here is the trainer in question. Bonus, a color version of it, with basic brushes on photoshop. It was quite nice for once using the tablet. I need other brushes though, those suck!

Inventing a pokemon is hard work, you need an idea, a concept, and then find clever ways to emphasize those ideas, with the simplest lines and design. H-A-R-D W-O-R-K.

Are you curious to see the pokemon now? Skeleton hands on the chest might be a clue...

Je trouvais la première trop proche de la Sailor Moon de Naoko Takeuchi (auteur du manga), et ai décidé de reprendre le dessin quelques mois plus tard. J'aime beaucoup la façon dont il a tourné, je trouve le rendu plus intéressant que mes dessins habituels. Pour les fans de la série, le sceptre n'existe pas, je l'ai inventé.

Le papier est un papier vintage acheté au marché de St Ouen.
